Final Task: Secret Admirer

Embedded below is my final task! I put a lot of effort into this project and I really enjoyed the journey, despite all the confusions and setbacks. I have learned some much throughout this! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together!😁

Production Blog: Finalizing Titles

Image
Now that I am nearly at the end of this journey, I have begun finalizing the titles on my opening sequence. My original plan was to have the titles fade in on one side of the screen and then fade out on the other end of the screen. But unfortunately iMovie did not allow me to do that so I had to have one title for each screen. I originally planned for each use the gravity effect for each title. However, that effect only seemed to work for the short titles. Since some of my titles were a bit long, I ended just using the line titles. This visual effect has a fade in/out feature but what really stands out is the credit on the top and the person's name who is being given credit is on the bottom. This effect worked amazing especially for the directly, executive producer titles. As I mentioned in the previous blogs, I suspected that I would probably go over the time limit. My intuition was correct. After editing, adding music, and finalizing the titles, I was 9 seconds past the 2 minute

Production Blog: Music

I have now reached the point in my journey where I have begun to work with what music I will be using. As I mentioned before, I have been searching for royalty free music. This is mainly it’s a void copyright licensing issues, as well as, downloading fees. I have been searching on bensounds.com, but as I continued my search I was not finding any that matched I was looking for. There is one that I did find called “evolution” but some thing about it was off.  Not only that but they did not match the plot. Although this website is great I have decided to look elsewhere.  I found a website called freemusicarchive.org. I like this website because it has different genres to choose from. There’s genres include pop, hip-hop, instrumental, classical, jazz, and more. And there are also sub genres such as ambient, New Age, compilation and soundtrack. I had a lot to choose from, I ended up with two that I really loved.  Since I was editing, on my phone I simply screen recorded the sound of the mu

Production Blog: More Editing

As I continue to edit and perfect my project, I have had to gone back several times. My goal was not to edit in one day, but edit throughout a week or two. I find this strategies useful  for because taking a break and going back allows me to gain a new perspective and to fix things that I may have not noticed before.  As I was editing through my footage this week, I noticed that the background noise in some of my voiceover was too loud. Of course I could not have controlled the background noise because we were filming in a public setting. So what I’ve decided to do is simply do a new voice over. It is not necessary to re-film that scene I just need a new voiceover. However, the tricky part was to match up the voice over with the movement of our lives and bodies. I was able to do this but I can admit it’s not as perfect as I would want to be. I really did not like the fact that we had to wear masks but now I am actually thankful that we did. Because of the mask movement of our lips are

Filming Blog: Day Two

Image
Over the weekend, I was finally able to film the second half of my scenes. We met up once again at galleria mall around 1 PM on Saturday, April 3. The process was much smoother this time around. Everyone was on time and we got a lot done. We film for about three hours. In my previous blog I mentioned that I was contemplating on whether or not I should start from scratch, and I did. One of the reasons why I decided to start from scratch is because I now have a different hairstyle.  I realize that I can’t have one hairstyle in one scene and a different hairstyle and another. Not only that but I was not 100% satisfied with the footage I had last time so this gave me more of a reason why to start from scratch. I am much more satisfied with the footage I have now.  I could have kept my establishing shot from the first time I filmed but I wanted to make it better. Last time I film the establishing shot was from the side. This time I started the shot exactly across from the entrance of the ma

Production Blog: Drafting My Titles

As I look forward to filming the second half of my scenes, I started adding titles to what I have so far. I used the iMovie application. This was actually a lot harder and more time consuming than I expected. I thought I would simply type out the titles and place them where I need them on the screen. But figuring out the font, the size, how the title would appear on screen all took quite  awhile. And I am only half way through it all.  I had  planned to use the Castellar font for my titles but iMovie did not have it. I ended up using the Copperplate font and put the definition of each letter on light. The opening screen will be the name of the studios followed by the production company. These two will be in red letters on a black screen. I have edit both of these tiles to appear in gravity mode. This is one of the text features on iMovie. After these two titles, the next screen will be an establishing shot of Galleria Mall. As of right now, the letters are red, but now that everything
